In addition to the colorful silkscreens from the “Towards the Horizon” series, Steffa Reis also focused, especially in her former years, on the techniques of lithography and etching. A notable group of works titled “Genesis” (Bereshit), presents dramatic scenes from the biblical narrative of Adam and Eve, their creation and banishment. In the series “Flight,” abstracted angular birds and the mythical horse Pegasus soar through the air, capturing the sheer physicality of flight.
Many of Steffa Reis’ works were reproduced as art cards and were very popular in the 1970s and 1980s.
