Although most of Steffa Reis’ artwork is not narrative-driven, specific events have inspired her to create several thematic series. In these, she has given expression to such experiences as her traumatic encounter with war in Israel; her emotionally charged visits to Berlin; her fascination with a famous poetess and her work; her visceral response to modern dance; and the haunting presence of classical ruins.
