Between Figuration and AbstractionLandscapes
Throughout her career, Steffa Reis has simultaneously created in both figurative and abstract styles. This selection presents works from different periods, and created in different media, in which elements of both modes exist in one and the same work. The subjects are clearly recognizable, and yet, at the same time, the painterly components of line, color, and form are liberated from realistic depiction, and exist in their own right.
